System Grazhni Yamsai
Grazhni Yamsai is perhaps the second most influential system in Greater Pordlandia, second only to Nalydya. Colonized by Yamai'an Hunters many cycles ago, it is semi-autonomous and harbours a vast population of Pords on the three worlds dotting the system. The primary planet, Yamsai, houses the shipyards of the Yamsai'an Orbital Fabricators which serve as one of the primary production facilities for Imperial Nalydya. Because of its importance, the VRZ has established its headquarters on Yamsai in the city of Yamsai Nord.
YamsaiOrbital Distance: 30 AU
Orbital Period: 160 Earth years; 1.28 Standard Pordic Years Radius: 8,520 km Day Length: 21 Earth hours Surface Temperature: -60 °c (average) Surface Gravity: 1.1 g Temperature Gradient: -30 °c to -150 °c Mass: 2 Earth masses Satellites: 8 Significance: - Capital of the Yamsai System - "De facto" Capital of the Great House of Yamsai - Semi-autonomous - Cultural Hub - Spiritual Hub - Yamsai'an Orbital Fabricators Habitation
Unlike many other Nalydian worlds, Yamsai does not have a plethora of small villages dotting it. The bulk of the population live in sprawling metropolises, many styled after Tnem-Fragg, with the rest of the planet, mostly untouched, relatively devoid of habitation.
The south pole of the planet is dominated by the twin features of Kazhel Mylna 'Suzt and the vast Fort Shyknaq. Kazhel Mylna 'Suzt is one of two cultural hubs on the planet; it is a city built in fealty to Amaruq with Fort Shyknaq - an anchor point for the planetary shields - standing in defense. The main cultural center of the planet is the city of Pa-uzt. Pa-uzt sits on the north pole of the planet and like Kazhel Mylna 'Suzt is defended by a fort that acts as anchor point for the planetary shields. This is Fort Telnaq. Pa-uzt is perhaps best well known for serving as training ground for Avatar Erick Lodun. He was taught the Way of the Flowing Tide by High Hunter Hans-Ulrich von Yamsai many cycles ago. Climate
Yamsai is considered by many to be the Great Pordish Desert. The vast plains offer little in the way of precipitation and the frigid temperatures rarely find themselves warming up to a level that might see the existence of liquid water.

Yamsai Prime
Surface Temperature: 13,695 Kelvin
Mass: 4.8 Solar Masses Luminosity: 245 Solar Luminosity Radius: 3.32 Solar Radii Geography
The greater extent of the planet is dominated by flat windless tundra. Three main mountain ranges dilute the purity of the chilly steppe: along the equator, stretching north, is the Yamsai Range. These are the tallest mountains on the planet and they empty out into the Yamsai Uplands which are well to the west of the capital of Yamsai Nord.
In the far south, east of the great city of Pa-uzt, are the Hol-nam Mountains. The Hol-nam Mountains have relatively shallow peaks and serve to give the metropolis of Hol-nam Nalutz its name. Southeast of the Great House Basin within which Yamsai Nord is built is the city of Thra 'Suzt which stands at the base of a long-extinct volcanic chain by the same name. Jutting from some of the lowest terrain of the planet, the Thra 'Suzt peaks are imposing and dominate the landscape for thousands of miles around them. Biodiversity
Yamsai is a cold and unforgiving planet. Unlike Nalydya which houses liquid water and vast oceans, Yamsai does not have this luxury. When found by Yamsai'an Hunters the planet did not harbour life.
The bulk of the plant-life brought to the planet are carnivorous. These plants feed on many of the smaller, hardier, animals which graze upon the other types of plants that also call the planet home - various bulb and pitcher plants which collect snow to keep themselves hydrated in the chilly expanse. Yamsai is largely devoid of larger carnivore species and their absence has allowed herbivores to prosper. Consequently, Yamsai has a far higher population of animals Pords typically consider livestock and herds are plentiful. The lack of oceans benefits the terrestrial populations; they have far more land upon which to sprawl. |
Frederick is perhaps the least relevant of the primary Nalydian worlds on the international stage, but this does not diminish its importance; taken from the Grand Republic during the ARN-Laptev War, this planet is cold and icy, and the great statues of Admiral Manster Heinz and Kazhel nam-Tyrazh commemorate the history of the Imperial Nalydian navy.
Frederick is often used as a training ground for polar troops thanks to its relative sparse population and biting cold. The training facilities here produce some of the best cold weather soldiers the Pords field; standard ZJR training does not focus for terribly long on prolonged operations in extreme weather. At 50 AU from her parent star, Frederick is a chilly world devoid of natural habitation. Pordish settlements on the surface are beneath vast domes and the local populace etch out livelihoods in the severe cold. Even for Pords the cold is extreme; the poles and more remote areas can only be visited with heavily insulated clothing and breathing gear and the average temperature hovers around the lowest cold of the capital Nalydya. |

Hol-nam Naluzt is the furthest planet from Yamsai Prime. It is sparsely populated and serves as the outer port for the system. The largest city on the planet is Hol-nam Naluzt, for which the planet takes its name, with a population of some five million Pords.
At 150 AU the planet orbits extremely far from her parent star and considerable effort goes into keeping the elements out from the buildings and living areas. Even for Pords the planet is lethally cold; unprotected individuals succumb to the elements in mere seconds. |
