Nezhötnu
Nezhötnu is the first hunt. It is either the first hunt of the day, week, or year and is the most important of them all as it marks the start of a new cycle. When celebrated at the start of the hunting season, grand feasts are held in honour of the gods who gave the Pords the art of hunting and their respite from the dreaded cold.
Helzhymnu
Helzhymnu is the middle hunt, often taken midday, midsummer, or midweek. It is a hunt often missed as the first hunt often drags out into the later hours of the day. It is recognized as the worst time to make a catch as creatures are neither heading to bed for the night nor still groggy with sleep. Helzhymnu is often associated with Voznayte, as many great battles have taken place when the sun was high in the sky.
Schalchnu
Schalchnu is the last hunt either of the day, week, or cycle. The most respected of the three hunts it is seen as the end. Once over, there is nothing more that can be done. Night has come; the week is over; winter is arrived. Like Nezhötnu, Schalchnu is marked by great feasts and celebrations when it arrives. It marks the start of winter and hunts tended to be avoided during the stormy season.
