The Cycle
Everything has a spirit - a soul. Pords, animals, plants... The very land wind and sky. Some of these are timeless; the land and sky are eternal and immutable while others are not. Animals and plants have a cycle - birth, life, death, rebirth.
New spirits are not often created. Most were crafted at the very beginning and have only take different forms as time marched onward. Some, however, have been able to break out of the cycle. Those who have move on to the Ever-Tundra and the planes beyond that of the mortal realm. To ascend one must understand the nature of things - the balance, the push, the pull, the cycle. Once they have given themselves over to the greater universe is it possible to go beyond.
The Ever-Tundra is merely the first in a series of ever higher planes and domains that the gods and spirits inhabit. For Pords, bound by their commitment to the natural order and the cycle, it is most often their last stop. They understand the ways of the universe, but most have yet to understand what is beyond. Thus it is in death that they begin the cycle once more, giving themselves over to the realm to contemplate what is beyond their station and seek what is above.
